Seeing that most of my New Year's resolutions usually don't make it to day 2 I am rather proud of myself for posting two days in a row! Today is Saturday and the last complete day off from work. (I don't count tomorrow because I have to get into bed knowing I have to get up early....my own weird logic.)I took full advantage of the fact that this is supposed to be a "vacation" day. Delaney and I stayed in our pajamas until she asked me if she could get dressed!

Picture 1

Tonight we went to the Redbox and rented two movies....out of the ordinary for us...and they are chick flicks (Steve reallizes I am on football overload)....two of my favorite magazines came today and found the salt and cracked pepper popcorn I've been looking for! So tonight we are watching movies, reading magazines, eating popcorn and enjoying my last vacation day!

Pictures 2-3

Delaney called me from the living room. When I walked I found the mess on the floor. She quickly said, "I sorry...I clean it up" This led to picture two...where she is eating the mess off the floor! I guess I could have stopped her from eating off the floor but then there would not have been picture 2!

Another reason for this picture is it so quite clearly shows the pink explosion that has happened at our house! She actually told Santa that she wanted "pink and white" presents!(Note the pink/white car, couch and various other toys in the background) Even the Yogo bites she is eating off the floor are pink!

The quote for today: "Have a good nap, Delaney" I said. "Goodnight Sugarplum" Delaney said.

So in the words of Delaney: Goodnight Sugarplums!

Today was a lazy day in the Thurman house. A lot of the day was spent playing Wii and Memory. (Note to all parents: never buy memory for your toddler or you will be playing it over and over forever!) Delaney really loves the Memory game. Right now we just place the cards face up and make "matches". For a two year old she is pretty good.

Delaney didn't have a heavy winter coat. With snow in the forecast and after Christmas sales I thought I should nab one now. I found this Osh Gosh coat on sale for $12! When I brought it home I held it out and Delaney squealed, ran toward me and grabbed the coat like it was the best thing she'd ever been given. After putting it on she refused to take it off!

For our New Years meal we had black eyed peas for luck, spinach to bring money, and a prime rib roast. Hence the picture of the rotisserie! The rotisserie was the only thing Steve wanted for Christmas. I lucked out at Kohl's with a 30% off coupon so Santa brought it to our house! This was his first meal with it and the roast was outstanding. Yum!

Happy New Year!

It's a New Year!

So - a friend of Facebook posted about taking a picture a day....and I thought hmmmm....could I do that? My blogging skills have so far been lacking but I like the idea of telling your story through pictures. It is probably a crazy idea but as most of you know it is probably not my craziest! So today I'll post - tomorrow who knows!

Hi friends,
I am having a hard time keeping this blog and my school blog separate! So if you see some weird school stuff on here just know it is the beginning of the year and I am scatter brained!

Technical Difficulties

Yikes, somehow I deleted the old posts! I am trying to go back in history to retrieve them - so you guys may be getting emails about the updated blog with no updates! I promise to get something on here soon!
School's Out - Snow Days!
Since we had 3 inches of snow last night we got to stay home! Delaney hasn't seen much snow so we got dressed and went outside. She didn't think it was too great at first. She finally decided it was neat to look at but was not the least bit interested in touching it! Granted she did take a face front tumble right off the bat! Maybe we'll try again later in the day!

This is what happens when you leave the baby home with dad! When he showed me these pictures he quickly explained why she had TWO chocolate cookies in her hands, "Well, she had a hold of this bracket that I wanted so I bribed her with cookies!" She only weighs 20 pounds and is just over 2 feet tall - but obviously is tougher than dad...or is it smarter!

New School Year

It's that time already! School is in session. Delaney and I were on our own for the first day of school. Steve, Robert, and Carl trekked across country to New York, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati to go to baseball games! Quite the life, huh! These pictures were taken by our friend and neighbor, Nancy, on our way to school that morning! (I knew the pictures at the end of the first day might not be so great. The day went really well. My class seems like a sweet group. (I'll let you know more about that in April or May) Delaney went to Miss Julie's house to play with Kendall and Teagan. She didn't even look back as she crawled across the floor to steal the bow out of Kendall's hair. My own little bully.

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving Day at Mere's and Papa's house. Along with us - Robert, Laurie, Carl and Stephanie were all there. Like always, we ate too much food. Here are some pictures of Delaney outside after dinner.
